The CPN-UML and the Progressive Democratic Party (Pralopa) have reached an agreement to form an electoral alliance in eight districts of Karnali Province. The agreement covers eight out of Karnali’s ten districts, excluding Humla and Jumla.
The agreement document was signed by CPN-UML Vice Chair Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ and Pralopa Central Council Member Durga Soble.
In Humla, UML candidate Dal Fadera and Pralopa candidate Jatil Karki are contesting the election. Other candidates in the district include Jayapati Rokaya from the Nepali Congress, Dr. Dipendra Rokaya from the Nepal Communist Party, Chhak Budha from RPP, and Tashi Lhanzom from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
Similarly, in Jumla, Shantilal Mahat from UML and Manrishi Dhital from Pralopa are in the race. Other contenders include Deep Bahadur Khatri of the Nepali Congress, Naresh Bhandari of the Nepal Communist Party, Gyanendra Bahadur Shahi of RPP, Binita Kathayat of RSP, Birkha Bahadur Shahi of CPN (Maoist Centre), and Birkha Rawat of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP).
