Candidates of the Congress–UML–JSP alliance have won all three positions in the National Assembly election from Lumbini Province. The results were made public on Sunday evening after the completion of vote counting.
According to details released by the Office of the Election Officer, CPN-UML’s Ram Kumari Jhakri was elected from the women’s group, securing a total vote weight of 6,330. Her closest rival, Durga Bhandari of the Nepal Communist Party, received 1,362 vote weight, while Padma Pandit of Rastriya Janamorcha secured 142.
From the persons with disabilities group, Nepali Congress candidate Basudev Ghimire ‘Jangali’ emerged victorious with a vote weight of 5,322. His opponent, Sajan Bik of the CPN, received 1,601 vote weight.
Similarly, in the open category, Nepali Congress candidate Chandra Bahadur KC was elected with 5,977 vote weight. Maoist Centre candidate Brihaspati Adhikari secured 1,832, while Bam Bahadur Khatri of Rastriya Janamorcha received 133 vote weight.
With this result, all three National Assembly members representing Lumbini Province have been elected from the Congress–UML–JSP alliance.
