Heavy snowfall that has continued since Saturday has severely disrupted daily life across the United States. President Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency in 20 states, including the capital Washington, DC.
According to international media reports, at least seven people have died so far across the country, including in New York, due to the severe snowstorm.
The storm, accompanied by strong winds, has left nearly one million homes without electricity. More than 10,000 flights have been canceled, while over 14,000 flights have been delayed.
The US National Weather Service (NWS) stated that the storm has spread across an area of approximately 3,220 kilometers, affecting around 210 million people nationwide.
