Ahead of the House of Representatives election scheduled for February 21, the Election Commission has brought a Joint Election Operations Center into operation to immediately address any issues that may arise during the electoral process.
The center, established within the Election Commission premises, will work to resolve all types of election-related problems on a real-time basis. The Commission said the Joint Election Operations Center was set up on Sunday.
The center was inaugurated by Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari. He stated that the center would act promptly to resolve any problems reported from any constituency. Issues that cannot be resolved at the polling station level will be addressed through the center, he added.
The center operates under the leadership of the Election Commission’s Secretary and includes joint representation from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the National Investigation Department. According to the Commission, the center will collect necessary information, analyze the situation, and make immediate decisions as required.
