A mother and her son from the same family have been murdered in Bara. Police said that 46-year-old Sumitra Devi Mandal and her 24-year-old son Rameshwar Mandal of Rahariyadi, Parwanipur Rural Municipality–1, were killed after being attacked with a sharp weapon.
According to Bara District Police Office spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Raj Pandit, the attack was carried out by an unidentified person around 3 a.m. today, resulting in the death of the mother and son at the scene.
In the same incident, the woman’s 50-year-old husband Jagroop Mandal and 22-year-old daughter Rina Kumari sustained serious injuries. Both are currently receiving treatment at LS Neuro Hospital in Parwanipur, police said.
Police said the motive behind the killings and the identity of those involved have not yet been determined. The investigation has been intensified with the help of trained sniffer dogs, and security vigilance has been increased to trace the suspects.
Following the incident, fear and panic have spread in the local area.
