Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal, Dagny Mios, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushila Karki today.
During the meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, the two discussed issues of mutual bilateral interest.
Prime Minister Karki said that she had to assume office under unusual circumstances, but noted that the country is gradually returning to normalcy and moving toward elections. She also expressed gratitude for the trust and support Nepal has received from Norway and the international community, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
On the occasion, Ambassador Mios said she was pleased to see Karki as Nepal’s first woman Prime Minister and expressed confidence that the upcoming elections would be conducted smoothly under her leadership.
She also recalled Norway’s continued support to Nepal in areas such as the peace process, constitution drafting, climate action, and sustainable development, and expressed confidence that this cooperation would continue in the days ahead.
