The Butwal–Narayanghat road section has been obstructed after becoming slippery. The blockage occurred at the Daunne section of Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality–2 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) along the East–West Highway.
According to Superintendent of Police Yuvraj Khadka of the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), rainfall made the road muddy and slippery near Ghiukhola and the Bishwakarma Temple area in Daunne, causing vehicles to get stuck on the road and reducing traffic movement to one side.
Rainfall this morning turned the road muddy and slippery, preventing vehicles from climbing uphill and resulting in traffic congestion. “Even light rain has made vehicles slip and unable to move. Trucks have been stuck in the muddy road, creating problems,” he said, adding that vehicles traveling from east to west have been unable to pass the uphill section, leading to a complete obstruction at present.
The Narayanghat–Butwal Road Project has stated that vehicular movement has been affected due to the obstruction in the Daunne section and efforts are underway to repair the road and reopen it. As construction work under the Butwal–Narayanghat road expansion project in the Daunne section remains incomplete, the road frequently becomes blocked even during light rainfall.
