Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that the country stands at a historic turning point today because of the courage, consciousness, and determination of the martyrs. In a message issued on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, she expressed heartfelt tribute to all martyrs who sacrificed their invaluable lives for civil liberty and democracy.
In her message, Prime Minister Karki stated that it is due to the martyrs’ bravery, awareness, and resolve that the nation has reached this historic moment, and emphasized that no mother’s lap should ever be left empty again. She also paid respect to the brave fighters who attained martyrdom during the Gen Z movement, which rose with hopes for justice, equality, accountable governance, and a brighter future.
The Prime Minister further stressed that every ruler must always remember their responsibility to build a state founded on good governance, moral values, and respect for citizens.
