Government offices across the country will now remain open until 5 PM starting today.
As per the provision that reduces daily service hours by one hour during the winter season, government offices had been operating from 10 AM to 4 PM. From today onward, office hours have been extended until 5 PM.
The government had fixed office hours from 10 AM to 4 PM from November 2 (Kartik 16) to January 29 (Magh 15). However, since Kartik 16 fell on Martyrs’ Day (a public holiday) and Kartik 17 was a Saturday, the revised office timing has come into effect from today, Kartik 18 (Sunday).
