On the second trading day of the week, Monday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed with a marginal gain. The benchmark index rose by 1.53 points to settle at 2,695.73 points, marking an increase of 0.05 percent.
During the session, the Sensitive Index declined by 0.16 percent, the Sensitive Float Index slipped by 0.04 percent, while the Float Index edged up by 0.05 percent. A total of 17,507,776 shares of 330 companies were traded, generating a turnover of NPR 8.22 billion. The market recorded 91,061 transactions in total.
Share prices of 114 companies increased, while 134 companies saw their prices decline. The share prices of 13 companies remained unchanged. SY Panel, Srinagar Agritech, and Himstar Energy gained the maximum of 10 percent each during the day.
Following the surge, SY Panel’s share price reached NPR 2,030.70, while Srinagar Agritech traded at NPR 1,478.40 per share. In terms of turnover, Aankhu Khola Hydropower Company led the market with transactions worth over NPR 414.9 million.
Out of the 13 sub-indices, five closed higher while seven ended in the red. The Hotel and Tourism sub-index recorded the highest gain, rising by 1.77 percent.
