A western low-pressure system is currently influencing the country, with generally cloudy conditions prevailing over Bagmati and Gandaki provinces as well as other hilly and mountainous regions, while the remaining areas are partly cloudy.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, fog is likely to occur in some areas of the Tarai during the daytime today. The high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will remain generally cloudy, while other areas will experience partly cloudy weather. There is a possibility of light snowfall and rain at one or two locations in the high hilly and Himalayan parts of these provinces.
Similarly, during the night, fog is expected in some parts of the Tarai. The high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will see partly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country is likely to have mostly clear weather. Light snowfall and rain are again possible at one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
The Division has urged all concerned to remain cautious, warning that snowfall, rainfall, and fog may affect daily life, tourism, trekking, health, as well as air and road transportation.
