Senior economist Dr. Meena Acharya has passed away. According to family sources, she died on Thursday evening.
Dr. Acharya was a researcher and author of Status of Women in Nepal and had been actively involved as a women’s rights activist. She also served as an advisor to former President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
Her cremation will be held today, Friday, at Pashupati Aryaghat.
