CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that individuals “infected with instability” are spreading rumors about the fall of the government.
Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Chautari Nepal, Kanchanpur, on Monday, Pokharel claimed that some people have been restless ever since the formation of the UML–Nepali Congress coalition government.
He asserted that the coalition between the Congress and UML will last until the 2084 BS elections. Targeting Congress leader Shekhar Koirala, he remarked that it is contradictory to seek a share in power while simultaneously criticizing the government.
On the upcoming Media Council Bill, Pokharel assured that no law will be introduced that curtails the right to information. He said the bill is being brought to regulate and safeguard the media sector, arguing that misuse of freedom has led to increasing disorder, which needs to be addressed.
