Nepal is playing its first match of the 10th edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup today against England. The match will be held at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and will begin at 3:15 pm Nepali time.
This is Nepal’s third appearance in the T20 World Cup. Nepal will also play all of its group-stage matches at the same venue, Wankhede Stadium. Under the captaincy of Rohit Kumar Paudel, Nepal is participating in the World Cup for the second time.
On the same day, Afghanistan will face New Zealand at 11:00 am, while Sri Lanka will take on Ireland at 7:15 pm. In matches played yesterday, Pakistan, West Indies, and host nation India registered winning starts. Pakistan defeated the Netherlands by three wickets, West Indies beat Scotland by 35 runs, and India overcame the United States by 29 runs.
Due to security concerns, Bangladesh declined to travel to India for the tournament, leading the International Cricket Council (ICC) to include Scotland as a replacement.
A total of 20 teams have been divided into four groups for the tournament, which will run until March 8. So far, six teams have won the ICC T20 World Cup title. India, England, and West Indies have each won the tournament twice, while Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Australia have won it once each.
