A worker died after suffering an electric shock due to a power leakage at an industry in Birtamode Municipality–2, Charpane, Jhapa, last night.
According to District Police Office spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Khadka, the deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Rajiv Rajbanshi of Shivasatakshi Municipality–4, who was working at Omkar Ready-Mixed Concrete Pvt. Ltd.
The incident occurred while he was cleaning a mixer machine. When he used a hilti on the mixer, a short circuit occurred, causing a severe electric shock and critically injuring him. He was rushed to B&C Hospital in Birtamode for treatment, where he died during treatment.
Police have stated that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
