The Ministry of Finance has made public the mid-term evaluation report of the budget for fiscal year 2082/83, revising its estimate of total government expenditure for the current fiscal year.
In the mid-term review, the Ministry projected that actual budget spending will be 14.04 percent lower than the originally announced budget size.
On Jestha 15, the government had unveiled a budget of Rs 1.964 trillion. Of this, Rs 1.18098 trillion was allocated for recurrent expenditure, Rs 407.89 billion for capital expenditure, and Rs 375.24 billion for financial management.
According to the revised estimates, recurrent expenditure is expected to reach Rs 1.12597 trillion, capital expenditure Rs 243.30 billion, and financial management expenditure Rs 319.04 billion. This corresponds to 95.34 percent, 59.65 percent, and 85.02 percent respectively of the initial budget allocations.
