Prime Minister Sushila Karki held a meeting with Indian Ambassador to Nepal Navin Srivastava, during which they discussed bilateral relations between Nepal and India, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat. Prime Minister Karki expressed her gratitude to Ambassador Srivastava for the support provided by neighboring friendly nation India for the upcoming elections.
She thanked the Government of India for providing vehicles, equipment, and other necessary materials to help ensure that the elections are conducted smoothly, transparently, and securely. On behalf of the Government of Nepal, Prime Minister Karki conveyed appreciation for India’s cooperation during the electoral process.
Ambassador Srivastava stated that India has always been committed to supporting Nepal’s democratic process and that, as a friendly neighbor, contributing to the success of Nepal’s elections is India’s responsibility. He noted that democratic and constitutional stability in Nepal is also important for India.
Prime Minister Karki emphasized the need for continued cooperation with neighboring friendly countries like India during the election period and highlighted the importance of positive partnership in strengthening democratic practices.
