
In the ongoing Top End T20 Series in Australia, Nepal has set a target of 140 runs for Melbourne Renegades Academy in their fifth match.
Winning the toss and batting first at Palmerston, Nepal scored 139 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Kushal Malla (29), Dipendra Singh Airee (27), and Lokesh Bam (24) were the main contributors with the bat.
For Melbourne Renegades Academy, Fergus O’Neill, Callum Stow, Lachlan Bangs, and Michael Archer each took two wickets.
This is Nepal’s fifth game of the tournament. After losing their first three matches—against Northern Territory Strike (the hosts), Bangladesh ‘A’, and Melbourne Stars—Nepal registered their first win yesterday by defeating Hobart Hurricanes.
A total of 11 teams are competing in the tournament, with each side playing six league matches. Nepal will next face Pakistan Shaheens on Friday.
Following the Top End T20 Series, Nepal will also play practice matches in Australia as part of their preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers.
