Nepal Oil Corporation has urged the general public not to unnecessarily store petroleum products, stating that fuel imports remain regular and sufficient.
Executive Director Chandikaprasad Bhatt requested consumers to avoid hoarding fuel, warning that unnecessary storage could increase the risk of accidents. He assured that fuel supply is operating smoothly and will continue without disruption during the election period.
In a notice issued on Monday, he stated, “Petroleum products are being imported regularly through the pipeline system, and sufficient quantities will continue to be imported even during the upcoming election period.”
He also informed that filling petroleum products in jerry cans and drums has been prohibited due to the potential risk of fire accidents associated with such storage.
The Corporation has appealed to all consumers to purchase only the required amount of fuel to help minimize the risk of possible fire-related incidents.
