A suspicious pressure cooker found in Chapali, Budhanilkantha Municipality–2, was discovered to contain pieces of brick.
According to SP Pawan Bhattarai of the Kathmandu District Police Range, the cooker was wrapped in paper and placed along an inner road leading from Chapali to Mathillo Bhangal. During disposal, a bomb squad from the Nepali Army found brick fragments inside the cooker.
Police also found matchsticks and connected wires inside the cooker, allegedly placed by a group attempting to disrupt the upcoming election, Bhattarai said.
The suspicious object, which was discovered around midnight, was safely neutralized this morning by a bomb disposal team deployed from the Chandan Nath Battalion of the Nepali Army.
