In Jhapa Constituency No. 5, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Balen Shah has taken a commanding lead in the vote count. According to the latest official results, Shah has received 5,254 votes, while CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has secured only 1,248 votes.
The vote difference between the two candidates has reached 4,006, signaling a major challenge to UML’s decades-long legacy in Jhapa-5. As the nationwide “bell wave” continues, the contest between Balen Shah and Oli has become the focus of public attention.
