At present, Nepal is under the partial influence of a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere and a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region of the country.
Currently, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, as well as the hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, are generally cloudy. The rest of the country is experiencing partly cloudy conditions.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, along with the hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, will remain generally cloudy this afternoon. The remaining parts of the country will see partly cloudy skies.
There is a possibility of light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country. Some areas of the Terai may experience fog during the morning hours.
Similarly, tonight the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, as well as the hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, are expected to remain generally cloudy, while other areas will have partly cloudy skies. One or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces may experience light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning. A few places in the Terai are also likely to see mist.
