Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate and former Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Nepal Police, Bishwaraj Pokharel, has narrowly won the House of Representatives election from Okhaldhunga Constituency No. 1.
He defeated his closest rival, Nepali Congress candidate Kumar Luintel, by just 5 votes.
According to the Election Commission Nepal, Pokharel secured 13,953 votes, while Luintel received 13,948 votes.
Although Pokharel was trailing during the early vote count, he managed to secure victory in the final stage with a narrow margin of five votes.
