The Election Commission of Nepal has decided not to announce the election results of Dhanusha Constituency-1. According to the commission’s decision, a letter has been sent today to the Office of the Election Officer for Dhanusha-1, said Section Officer (Legal) Arun Adhikari.
Earlier, on Falgun 18, the commission had decided to cancel the candidacy of Kishori Sah ‘Kamal’, a candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), after receiving evidence that his name was listed on the blacklist of the Credit Information Center.
However, a case regarding this decision has been filed at the Supreme Court of Nepal and is currently under consideration. Therefore, the commission has requested that the vote results under the First-Past-the-Post (FPTP) electoral system for Dhanusha-1 not be announced until the court issues an order.
According to the letter signed by Adhikari, the Provincial Election Office has also been informed and asked to ensure that the letter is delivered to the concerned election officer’s office and that the commission is notified once it has been served.
