Former Finance Minister and Vice Chair of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist), Bishnu Prasad Paudel, has submitted his election expense details to the Election Commission Nepal.
Paudel, who contested the House of Representatives election from Rupandehi District Constituency-2, submitted the spending report related to the election held on Falgun 21.
According to the expense statement submitted to the commission, Paudel spent NPR 2.8 million during the election campaign.
The largest portion of the spending went to vehicles and fuel. He reported spending NPR 897,275 on vehicle rentals and fuel. A total of NPR 834,000 was spent on print and electronic publicity.
Similarly, NPR 264,000 was spent on office operations, NPR 222,325 on miscellaneous expenses, NPR 190,000 on printing, NPR 175,000 on SMS messaging, NPR 98,000 for purchasing the voter list, NPR 55,000 on meetings and mobilizing party workers, NPR 45,000 on interactions, and NPR 26,500 on mobilizing representatives, bringing the total expenditure to NPR 2,807,100.
For this election, the Election Commission Nepal had set a maximum spending limit of NPR 2.9 million for candidates.
