Authorities have announced a two-week nighttime closure of the Dhulikhel–Khawa road section in Kavrepalanchok District along the Araniko Highway to carry out blacktopping work.
The road upgrade had previously stalled due to negligence by the construction contractor. After a new construction company signed a contract last Kartik, the project gained momentum, leading to the decision to temporarily halt traffic to complete the paving work.
According to the Road Division Office Bhaktapur, the road will remain closed at night from Chaitra 7 to Chaitra 20 for blacktopping work. Senior Divisional Engineer Sunam Yogesh said that large four-wheeled vehicles will not be allowed to operate between 6:00 PM and 5:00 AM during this period.
Passenger buses will also be restricted from operating during these hours, and travelers have been requested to use alternative routes.
Meanwhile, freight vehicles such as tipper trucks and cargo trucks, even those with passes, will be prohibited from operating on this section 24 hours a day throughout the construction period.
