According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Nepal is currently under the partial influence of a westerly low-pressure system.
At present, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country are generally cloudy, while the remaining areas are experiencing partly cloudy weather. Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is currently occurring at a few places in Gandaki Province and at one or two locations in Koshi Province and Bagmati Province.
During the day, skies will remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province, as well as other hilly and Himalayan areas, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy conditions.
There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning and snowfall in higher elevations at several places in the Himalayan region. Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is also likely at some places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as at a few locations in the hilly areas of other provinces. In addition, isolated places in the Terai of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces may also experience moderate rainfall.
Tonight, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy, while other areas will experience partly cloudy skies. There is a chance of moderate rain with thunder and lightning and snowfall in higher elevations at several places in the Himalayan region and at some locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Additionally, isolated places in the Terai areas of Koshi, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces may experience moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
