The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology Nepal has said that a western low-pressure system is currently influencing the weather across Nepal.
At present, the hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province, along with the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi Province and Bagmati Province, are generally experiencing cloudy conditions, while the remaining parts of the country have partly cloudy skies.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light rainfall and snowfall are occurring in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
The division forecasts partly cloudy weather in the mountainous regions across the country during the daytime. There is also a possibility of light rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two other Himalayan areas.
Similarly, light rain with thunder and lightning is likely in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the Himalayan regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces, while the hilly and Terai regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces will experience partly cloudy conditions. Weather in the remaining parts of the country is expected to remain mostly clear.
The division has also indicated that light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning may occur in one or two places in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
