The auspicious festival of Chaitra Navratri begins today across Nepal.
On this occasion, the sacred ritual of Ghatasthapana is being performed at Hanuman Dhoka Durbar, marking the formal start of the nine-day worship of Navadurga.
According to religious tradition, the most favorable time (muhurat) for Ghatasthapana today is 7:51 AM, and devotees are advised to perform the ritual facing north.
During Navratri, devotees across the country visit temples and Shakti Peeths, offering prayers and performing rituals dedicated to the goddess. A large number of worshippers are expected to gather at major religious sites.
There are four Navratris observed each year—in the months of Ashadh, Ashwin, Poush, and Magh (Shukla Paksha)—with Chaitra Navratri being one of the most widely celebrated.
