The Nepali Congress has called a Central Working Committee meeting for Friday.
According to acting Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal, the meeting will be held at 1 PM at the party’s central office in Sanepa.
Office bearers, central members, and provincial presidents have been requested to attend the meeting. The agenda includes election review and discussion on current political issues.
A key focus of the meeting will be on the resignation submitted by party president Gagan Thapa, along with discussions on the upcoming general convention and future party strategy.
Thapa resigned after the party’s poor performance in the Falgun 21 elections. Within the party, there are divided opinions on whether to accept his resignation.
However, Vice President Bishwo Prakash Sharma has indicated that the resignation is likely to be rejected. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he stated that a proposal to reject Thapa’s resignation will be presented in the meeting alongside the resignation letter.
