Prime Minister Sushila Karki has offered prayers at the renowned Chandannath Temple during her ongoing visit to Karnali Province.
Karki, who has been on a Karnali tour since Thursday, performed prayers at the temple for about 15 minutes on Friday morning. The Chandannath Guthi Committee expressed confidence that her visit would send a positive message for promoting religious tourism in Karnali.
The Prime Minister reached Jumla via a Nepal Army helicopter and stayed at the No. 24 Brigade headquarters. Security was tightened in the district during her temple visit. Chief District Officer Dipak Paudel confirmed that the Prime Minister offered prayers at the temple.
“With the prayers at Chandannath, the Prime Minister’s Jumla schedule has been completed. She prayed for peace and prosperity of the Nepali people,” he said.
Earlier, the Prime Minister had departed from Kathmandu on Thursday and visited Rara Lake in Mugu, along with an inspection of the Karnali Technical Institute in Jumla.
During her visit, she also held interactions with district-level security officials in Mugu, appreciating their efforts in successfully conducting the elections despite limited resources and difficult geography. She thanked security personnel, government staff, and voters for ensuring a peaceful and successful election.
The visit was aimed at expressing gratitude to those involved in maintaining peace during the elections, as well as observing key sites in the Karnali region.
