The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has signed an agreement with Nepal Eye Hospital to conduct eye checkups and primary treatment for 20,000 school-age students.
The agreement was signed by Health Department Chief Dipak Kumar KC and Hospital CEO Dharmaraj Gosain in the presence of Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol and Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain.
Following the agreement, Acting Mayor Dangol stated that the initiative aims to identify potential vision problems among children, especially due to the increasing use of mobile devices, and to promote better eye health.
As per the agreement, the hospital will conduct eye checkups for students from at least 30 schools through specialist doctors. After examinations, students will be provided with medication and glasses if required.
