Nepal is set to host the 16th National Veterinary Conference 2026 with the aim of strengthening the ‘One Health’ concept by integrating animal health, technology, and research. Organized by the Nepal Veterinary Association, the conference will take place on Chaitra 27–28, 2026, at the Hotel Dreamland Resort in Manigram, Rupandehi District. The event, under the theme “One Health Approach for Sustainable Livestock and Food Security”, aims to scientifically highlight the interconnection between humans, animals, and the environment.
Representatives from more than 10 countries and over 15 international invited speakers are expected to participate. The conference will feature over 150 scientific research papers on contemporary topics such as animal health, epidemic control, food safety, and the impact of climate change.
According to Dr. Shankar Nyaupane, a ‘Student Poster Competition’ will be organized to develop student capacity, with awards for outstanding contributions. Additionally, experienced veterinarians with over 25 years of service will receive special recognition, and national-level awards will be presented. The venue will host exhibition stalls related to animal health, medicines, vaccines, nutrition, and modern technology, allowing participants to gain direct insights into the latest innovations and practical practices in veterinary science.
The conference is supported by various Nepal government agencies, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Nepal Veterinary Council, and other professional associations.
