World Water Day is being observed across Nepal today with various awareness programs.
The day is marked every year on March 22 to raise awareness about the importance of water use and the conservation of water resources. Government bodies and different social organizations are organizing programs to educate the public about watershed protection, the importance of clean drinking water, and diseases caused by unsafe water.
The observance also highlights the growing global concern as water sources are gradually drying up, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to conserve them.
The day was officially declared by the United Nations during the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development held on March 22, 1992, urging all nations to take action toward sustainable water management and conservation.
