Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, a military helicopter belonging to Qatar has crashed in the country’s maritime area.
According to the Qatar Ministry of Defence, the helicopter went down due to a “technical fault” while operating over Qatari waters.
In a statement released through state media, the ministry said that search and rescue operations have been launched to locate the crew members and any passengers on board.
Qatari authorities noted that the helicopter was on a “routine mission” at the time of the (accident).
