An earthquake has been recorded in Darchula district early this morning.
According to senior seismologist Dr. Lok Bijay Adhikari from the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, the earthquake occurred at 3:51 AM with its epicenter around Murai in Darchula.
The earthquake measured 4.2 on the Richter scale, he said.
Earlier, on Chaitra 3, another earthquake of magnitude 4.0 had struck Darchula with its epicenter at Sitola.
No reports of damage or casualties have been received so far.
Seismologists note that Nepal lies in the Himalayan region, making it prone to frequent small and large earthquakes.
