The Kalimati Fruits and Vegetable Market Development Committee has set the wholesale prices of agricultural produce for today.
According to the committee, the price of large tomatoes (imported from India) is NPR 80 per kg, while small local tomatoes cost NPR 50 per kg. Small Indian tomatoes are priced at NPR 55 per kg, and Terai tomatoes at NPR 60 per kg. Red potatoes are fixed at NPR 20 per kg, Indian red potatoes at NPR 23 per kg, and dry onions (Indian) at NPR 36 per kg.
Among other vegetables, local carrots cost NPR 40 per kg, Terai carrots NPR 30, local cabbage NPR 35, and cauliflower ranges from NPR 60 to NPR 80 depending on origin. White radish (local) is priced at NPR 20 per kg and hybrid radish at NPR 30. Eggplants range between NPR 60 and NPR 75 per kg.
For green vegetables, long beans are priced at NPR 180 per kg, peas at NPR 60, and various types of beans range from NPR 70 to NPR 100. Bitter gourd is NPR 180 per kg, bottle gourd NPR 110, and sponge gourd NPR 120. Pumpkins range from NPR 60 to NPR 90 per kg, while okra is priced at NPR 150 per kg.
Leafy greens such as mustard leaves, spinach, and fenugreek range between NPR 60 and NPR 110 per kg. Mushrooms vary widely, with prices ranging from NPR 240 to NPR 1,000 per kg depending on the type.
Among fruits, apples cost between NPR 250 and NPR 300 per kg, bananas are NPR 210 per dozen, and pomegranates NPR 350 per kg. Grapes range from NPR 220 to NPR 350 per kg, while oranges (imported from India) cost NPR 150 per kg. Strawberries are priced at NPR 350 per kg, kiwis at NPR 400, and avocados also at NPR 400 per kg.
Spices and other items include ginger at NPR 110 per kg, dried chilies at NPR 420, and green chilies up to NPR 800 per kg depending on the variety. Garlic ranges from NPR 200 to NPR 250 per kg. Fresh fish varieties are priced between NPR 250 and NPR 350 per kg, while dried fish costs NPR 1,000 per kg.
