The central working committee meeting of the Nepali Congress has begun at the party’s central office in Sanepa. Leaders stated that the बैठक will mainly focus on election review and preparations for the party’s 15th General Convention.
Speaking to the media before the meeting, central committee member Pratima Gautam said the party will now shift its focus toward the upcoming convention. According to her, the meeting is expected to propose a preliminary schedule for the 15th General Convention.
She added that discussions are underway to hold the convention by coming Bhadra and emphasized efforts to resolve internal disputes and maintain party unity. Gautam also raised concerns about the नैतिकता of some leaders, stating that those who contested elections under the party president’s signature are now refusing to accept his leadership.
“We have completed the election process, and now our focus shifts to the 15th General Convention. Today’s meeting will bring a schedule for the convention, and we aim to hold it by Bhadra. Those who contested under the president’s authority but now reject him raise serious ethical questions,” she said.
Gautam further expressed commitment to making the upcoming convention a unifying event by bringing all factions together.
Notably, Gagan Kumar Thapa participated in the party meeting for the first time after the House of Representatives elections. His earlier resignation had been rejected by the party.
