Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vo Thi Anh Xuan, is arriving in Kathmandu today (Saturday) for a three-day official visit to Nepal at the friendly invitation of Nepal’s Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this will be the first-ever high-level visit from Vietnam to Nepal, scheduled from August 23 to 25 (Bhadra 7–9).
During the visit, Vice President Yadav and his Vietnamese counterpart are set to hold delegation-level bilateral talks in Kathmandu on August 24 (Bhadra 8). The visiting Vice President will also pay courtesy calls on other senior Nepali dignitaries.
The visit holds special significance, as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Vietnam. Vice President Xuan will return home on August 25 (Bhadra 9) after concluding her engagements.
