
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the monsoon trough is currently situated near its average position, while moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal are also affecting weather conditions in Nepal.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, skies will remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall at some places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in some hilly areas of other provinces and parts of the Tarai. Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in the hilly regions of Bagmati and Karnali provinces. Thunderstorms are also possible in parts of Madhesh, Koshi, and Lumbini provinces.
Tonight, skies will remain generally cloudy in Madhesh, Koshi, and hilly regions of the country, while other areas will experience partly cloudy conditions. Moderate rainfall is expected in some places of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in certain hilly regions and isolated parts of the Tarai. Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in the hilly areas of Gandaki Province.
