Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre), held a discussion on contemporary political issues with Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party.
Prachanda visited Biplav at his residence in Harisiddhi. During the meeting, they also discussed the possibility of leftist unity.
Earlier, in mid-Shravan, the Maoist Standing Committee had decided to pursue unity with Biplav’s party. Prachanda formally shared the party’s decision with Biplav and discussed current political matters.
After the dissolution of the first Constituent Assembly, Biplav had left the Maoist party and joined various other political parties. He is currently serving as the General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party (Biplav faction).
