At least 12 people were injured when a jeep met with an accident near the road to Ishwarigangadhan, close to the Baitadi district headquarters. Police said three of the injured are in critical condition.
The incident occurred at around 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday when a Bolero jeep (registration no. Se 1 Ja 245), operated by Ugratara Transport, was traveling from Gothalapani to Khodpe of Patan Municipality-8. The vehicle veered off the road and fell about 30 meters down the slope.
Rescue teams transported the injured to the District Hospital, according to Police Inspector Baldev Badu, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Baitadi. He added that the names of the victims are being collected.
The jeep driver, Roshan Bhatt, has been taken into custody as police carry out further investigation.
