Four people were killed and four others injured when a jeep met with an accident in Dadeldhura on Thursday morning.
According to the District Police Office, Dadeldhura, the incident took place on an unpaved road at Chaud in Navadurga Rural Municipality-5. The jeep veered off the road and fell about 500 meters into a forested area.
Police Inspector Dambar Bista said that rescue efforts are underway. A team from the temporary police post in Thanta Bazaar and the district police office reached the scene immediately after receiving information.
The injured are being rescued and prepared to be taken to Dadeldhura Hospital for treatment. The identities of the deceased have yet to be confirmed, and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The jeep, bearing registration number Se 1 Ja 738, was reportedly heading toward the district headquarters when the accident occurred.
