Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has stated that no other stable and powerful government is likely to be formed before 2084 BS.
Speaking at an event in Kathmandu on Thursday, Paudel said that the current government, formed by the UML and Nepali Congress, is a strong coalition, making it difficult to imagine a more powerful government in the near future.
According to him, the current government has ruthlessly corrected distortions in budget allocation and prioritization. He added that the presence of a stable government has led to legal reforms and boosted investor confidence in the country.
Paudel emphasized that government plans should be based on clear priorities. “It should not be assumed that a plan is automatically correct just because the Planning Commission prepared it. Attention must be given to whether the plan is based on proper priorities,” he said.
He also noted that serious problems persist in planning and allocation, but efforts are underway to resolve them.
Paudel stated, “The Congress–UML coalition is a powerful government. A stronger government than this cannot emerge from the current parliament. Until 2084, it is unrealistic to expect another stable and powerful government. This is the stable and strong government, and we are working according to what needs to be done at this time.”
He further claimed that the current fiscal year’s budget was prepared outside the Planning Commission
