Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to deliver a special address at the House of Representatives meeting on Friday.
During a discussion with chief whips of major parties at Singha Durbar on Thursday, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire informed them about the Prime Minister’s address in parliament.
Before embarking on his visit to China, Prime Minister Oli will brief the House about the trip. He is set to leave for China on Saturday. Oli has already stated that he will raise the Lipulekh issue clearly with both India and China. He mentioned that he would hold candid discussions on the matter with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, taking parliament’s confidence as well. While in China, Prime Minister Oli is also scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Meanwhile, the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced that it will not obstruct the Prime Minister’s address. The RSP, which had been boycotting parliament for a long time over the misuse of visit visas issue, has said it will allow Oli to deliver his address today.
