The government has decided to appoint Justice Sudarshan Dev Bhatt as the Chairperson of the Special Court. The Judicial Council had recommended his name along with four new members for the court.
In the cabinet meeting held on Friday, the following judges were also approved as members:
- Justice Narayan Prasad Paudel, High Court, Birgunj Bench
- Justice Hemant Rawal, High Court, Surkhet
- Justice Dilliratna Shrestha, Jumla Bench
- Justice Umesh Koirala, Birgunj Bench
Under legal provisions, the chairperson and members of the Special Court are appointed by the government based on the recommendation of the Judicial Council.
