Out of the injured, six are in critical condition and have been sent to the National Trauma Center in Kathmandu, while the remaining eight are receiving treatment at Ghormi’s Jansewa Polyclinic, where most are reported to be in stable condition.
According to Kamal Giri, the Ward Chairman and Municipal Spokesperson of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-7, local residents and the police assisted in the rescue operations following the accident.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined, with an investigation currently underway, as stated by Deputy Superintendent of Police Pratik Bist.
The passengers had been returning after attending the ‘Bholbam Mela’ held in Halesi. Witnesses noted that the accident occurred in an area with thick bushes and boulders, which may have prevented greater human loss.
