Kanchanpur District Court has ordered the remand of 17-year-old Samjhana Bhatt’s husband, Pawan Bhatt, to prison for further investigation into her death case.
According to the court’s ruling, Samjhana’s father-in-law Haridatt Bhatt and sister-in-law Pooja Bhatt were released on bail, while her mother-in-law Kiran Bhatt was freed on a general date. The bail amount for the father-in-law and sister-in-law was set at Rs 100,000 each.
The decision came on Thursday after a hearing related to the abetment of suicide case filed by Samjhana’s family at the Kanchanpur District Police Office.
Samjhana was found hanging at her home on August 2 (Shrawan 18). Following the investigation, her husband has been sent to jail, while other family members have been released under court conditions.
