Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh has been assigned the responsibility of Acting Prime Minister.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli departed for China this morning on a five-day official visit, during which Singh will oversee daily administrative duties.
According to the Office of the President, President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Singh as Acting Prime Minister on Oli’s recommendation.
This is not the first time Singh has been entrusted with the role; Prime Minister Oli has previously designated him as acting head while traveling abroad.
Oli is attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in China and is scheduled to return on Wednesday, September 3 (Bhadra 18).
