
Narayan Prasad Rimal, the Ward Chairperson of Tarkeshwar Rural Municipality Ward No. 6 in Nuwakot, passed away this morning at the age of 44. According to family sources, he died during treatment at Bir Hospital in Kathmandu after suffering from fever and pneumonia.
Rimal, who had been undergoing regular health check-ups following gallstone surgery last May, began experiencing complications from fever and pneumonia over the past week. He was also a member of the CPN-UML Nuwakot Secretariat and had previously been elected as a ward member in the 2074 BS local elections.
In honor of his passing, Tarkeshwar Rural Municipality has announced a day of mourning. Chairperson of the municipality, Abiral (Shiv Adhikari), issued a condolence statement declaring today as a “Day of Mourning” and has given a public holiday across all ward offices and public service institutions. The national flag has also been flown at half-mast as a mark of respect.
